Dear Friends,
I am writing from my son’s hospital room at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. Geoffrey starts a chemotherapy regimen today to make space within his four year old little body for a bone marrow transplant in ten days. We are in the same room that Ryan had his transplant in nearly five months ago. Like Ryan, Geoffrey will receive his sister, Sharon’s marrow.
As I wrote with Ryan: “this journey is complex and both hard and hopeful. There is a combination of loss, love, and sacrifice required for this treatment to be possible. As I ponder all of this within my heart, I keep coming back to the phrase: let the healing begin.”
Thank you, as always, for your love, prayers, and support of Living Room.
